Our climate is changing, and the global scientific community has shown that human activity has contributed. Victoria can expect a hotter, drier and more extreme climate now and in future.

The Victorian Government is responding by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preparing for further changes to our climate.

We all need to join together to realise the best and prevent the worst impacts of climate change, and to prepare our communities, businesses and environment for those that cannot be avoided.

What you can do to reduce your impact

Victorian Climate Change
Green Paper

The Climate Change Green Paper is the next step in developing the Victorian Government's comprehensive response to climate change.

It proposes ways to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to the impacts of climate change and become a leading low carbon economy.

Submissions process

Please note that the call for formal submissions in response to the Green Paper has now closed.

Over 300 submissions have been put forward by Victorian individuals, businesses, community groups and non-government organisations and the information provided in these submissions will be an important resource for the development of Victoria's Climate Change White Paper.

These submissions will be made publicly available in the coming weeks.
